About Support the Maker

Support The Maker is brought to you by the team behind Craft In Focus, one of the UK’s top organisers of contemporary craft fairs. Craft In Focus have been established over 20 years and have made a name for themselves with a reputation for bringing the public only the very best professional craftmakers and artists at their events.

All exhibitors are selected to exhibit at our events and we do not allow any imported or mass-produced products which sets us apart from many other craft fairs. Support The Maker provides an opportunity to purchase online from some of the UK’s finest craftmakers and whilst doing this, you can be sure you are buying original items made with passion by British makers.

We also felt there was a demand for people to sell Pre-Loved work that they have purchased over the years. People may have had a change of colour scheme/decor or may be downsizing and no longer have a place for a piece of work that they have previously purchased. By being able to sell the item on Support The Maker, it not only keeps the value in the work but provides the ideal market place for the piece to be purchased by someone who will appreciate the piece.

You may be wondering why we called the site Support The Maker. Well, we like to think that we, as a craft fair organiser, have always supported the makers as have many of the visitors to our events over the last twenty or so years. However, these makers are all small businesses using their skills to design and create the beautiful items they sell. Without your support, they wouldn’t survive. And many of these are using age old skills to produce contemporary items. They are competing with imported and mass-produced work for sale online and on the high street. Please join us and Support The Maker by buying from these talented independent businesses.
